Our water went from hot to tepid to cold just before the Easter weekend. Nightmare with 3 teenagers at home. The problem was not clear but AHS went the extra mile out of hours to find the problem. Once the problem was clear fixing it was also obvious that fixing it was not going to be easy. However a temporary fix meant we had hot water over Easter. THANK YOU ! It was clear a lot of thought and time had gone into finding a solution that would work with our existing system. This was installed with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency ( as usual) and a decompressor valve added to avoid a similar reoccurrence. AHS is an amazing company who really do go the extra mile. fantastic job. Thank you.

New boiler and tank

We have used AHS for many years now, so when our old cast iron stove finally expired, then they were the obvious choice for a new system. After much honest and professional discussion, a new system was agreed upon for our heating and hot water.

The installation team did a first class job, with much attention to detail. We now have a new and more efficient system for heating our house and water.

We are happy to recommend them and will be using them for the maintenance of our new systems.

Complete re-plumb of Grade II listed property

A belated thank you to AHS for their tremendous work in replacing all our heating, hot/cold water pipework, radiators and boiler. A challenging and demanding project, AHS were the only company willing and able to take on the scale of the work and happy to work within the varying and dynamic constraints imposed by other simultaneous renovation works, Brexit supply-chain uncertainty and the restrictions of the Grade II listed structure (including working a weekend to ensure the heating was on following a hospital stay, for which we are very grateful).

AHS showed great attention to detail, helping guide the project from planning through to the eventual commissioning of the system, which they were able to bring online (thanks to some ingenious thinking) in two stages to fit around other works. From the very start, AHS were keen to help us get the system technically right: arranging for us to see an earlier installation, helping to plan the size of radiators, pipework and the boiler to ensure the final system would deliver comfort efficiently. They were happy to visit on multiple occasions to answers questions and carefully design the system around the needs and constraints of the building. The new boiler replaces an old inefficient system which left the house feeling perpetually cold and lacking in hot water. The new efficient boiler, with its intelligent ‘set and forget’ weather compensating controls, is performing remarkably well and has vastly improved the overall comfort of the house – delivering a consistent, comfortable and uniform temperature throughout the building. The new pressurised hot water system with a pumped secondary return is supplying us with endless quantities of consistently hot water and has a transformed the shower.

The build was led by an expert team of engineers who were happy to discuss and advise on the technical aspects of the installation, suggesting improvements to the overall design. AHS were meticulous and thoughtful in all aspects of their plumbing and pipework routing which was a considerable challenge because of the complexities of the old property. Where pipework had to be surface mounted, AHS were very careful to ensure the pipework was mounted carefully so that it ran straight and level. The end result is a work of modern art - being aesthetically pleasing and enhancing the overall look of the room. The boiler room installation was completed to a very high standard and AHS were able to fit the boiler and hot water cylinder into a small space thanks to some thoughtful pipework routing, which they carefully lagged - demonstrating AHS’s commercial pedigree.

Where snags were found (to be expected on a project of this size), AHS were prompt and courteous in fixing. It was clear that AHS take real pride in their work, always seeking to ensure that the build met our expectations.

We are very happy with the installation and the team’s careful, professional, methodical and tidy approach to their work. I highly recommend AHS for all aspects of heating and plumbing (no job is seemingly too big or too small). They are a first rate and friendly team who are very knowledgeable and highly experienced in all aspects of Veissmann and heating/water systems in general, giving very sound and helpful advice. Communications with the office were excellent and very helpful throughout. Thank you very much AHS for a job well done!

Boiler Replacement

An AHS engineer found that my boiler was emitting fumes and was beyond economic repair. This was a Monday morning of freezing temperatures and snow on the ground. My concern was to obtain a quotation for replacement and how long it would take for works to begin. I received a detailed quotation within two hours and the promise of work to replace the boiler within 48 hours. Later that same day AHS rang to say that they had obtained a replacement boiler and would begin work on the following day, Tuesday. The work was carried out by two excellent AHS engineers who found other failures in my system, which they repaired. They were punctual, professional and polite and I now have a fully functioning and most efficient boiler. Well Done AHS !

Following a breakdown in the middle of a cold snap I contacted a company posing as a local family concern, which proved to be anything but. After a wait of four days in the bitter cold I was told that no one could could come to see me for another two days because they were busy on a big job.

I called your company, an engineer called the next day, condemned the boiler (not a shock as it was 50 years old ) and sorted out emergency heating, the new boiler and system was fitted with a minimum of disruption by a cheerful and efficient team to the quote given and left clean and tidy, I was at all times kept in the picture. Since, I have never been more comfortable in my house.

Thank you again for your kind attention to my problems, I would recommend you without reservation to anyone needing such work carried out.
